Pamela Anderson Videos: Pamela Anderson In PETA Animal Rights Show: Pamela may be known for her stunning good looks and rock star lifestyle, but she has a soft side as well. Many may not be aware of this but Pamela Anderson is a vegetarian. And furthermore, she is known campaign on behalf of the activist organization PETA for animal rights (what celebrity doesn't these days?).

With those noble leanings in mind, she was just as affected and disgusted by the oil spill's effect locally as the rest of us. Being an animal lover, it supposedly so disturbed her when many pets were left abandoned in the wake of their owners moving away from financial troubles that she took a trip down here to rescue several dogs.

She managed to nab two chihuahua mixes from City Park (as a previous owner of such breeds, let me wish her good luck....they aren't the easiest critters to take care of!). Several shelters are trying to fight back what is a growing problem in this southern region, that being abandoned pets that desperately need to be taken care of.

Anderson seems to be relishing her role as the honorary director of PETA, and together they are attempting to coordinate an adopt-a-thon that will see these worthy dogs, cats, and other assorted creatures placed in worthy and warm homes. No word on if hubby Borat supports a woman going out on her own, though.
