Pamela Anderson Videos: Talks Christmas, panto, and the fervor of performing live on part in Liverpool: SHE may be more used to swaying palms and balmy Californian Christmases these days, but for Pamela Anderson the festive season as a child was spent in the rather more chilly surroundings of Western Canada. So a Liverpool Yuletide should take the 43-year-old right back to childhood on Vancouver Island.

The actress, who arrives in Liverpool next week to appear in the Empire’s production of Aladdin, grew up in the coastal town of Comox with furnace repairman dad Barry and waitress mum Carol. So what was Christmas like for the young Pamela? “Well, I come out of a quite poor family,” she tells me. “But Santa was, and still is, very good to me!”

The Andersons may have not had a lot of money, but Pamela had her first taste of stardom on the day she came into the world. She became the first baby born on the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation – July 1, 1967 – earning her the title of Centennial Baby. As a schoolgirl at Comox’s Highland Secondary she was more sporty than artistic, a natural winner on the sports field, while her flexibility earned her the nick-name ‘rubber band’.

Famously, she was discovered at a Canadian Football League Game in Vancouver, and a modelling career blossomed, with the 21-year-old soon moving to Los Angeles. It was there she won the part of CJ in Baywatch and made THAT red swimsuit famous across the world.
